The 2011 NCAA Tournament received a tweak in its structure with the addition of the “First Four.” This expanded the field to 68 teams and added an eight-team opening round to the March Madness 2011 Bracket. The four lowest schools to have an automatic qualifier will play for two 16 seeds. The last four at-large teams selected will play for a spot on their seed number.

No. 12 UAB vs. No. 12 Clemson, winner plays No. 5 West Virginia
No. 16 Texas-San Antonio vs. No. 16 Alabama State, winner plays No. 1 Ohio State
Southwest Region
No. 11 USC vs. No. 11 Virginia Commonwealth, winner plays No. 6 Georgetown
Southeast Region
No. 16 UNC-Asheville vs. No. 16 Arkansas-Little Rock, winner plays No. 1 Pittsburgh
The Opening Round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament will take place March 15-16 in Dayton, Ohio. All four games will be televised on truTV as part of the CBS-Turner broadcast partnership.
