The Buffalo Bills are picking third in the 2011 NFL draft and there are plenty of guesses on where they might go. The big names are the two quarterbacks -- QB Blaine Gabbert and QB Cam Newton-- while there are other possibilities like a defensive tackle or a cornerback, or even linebacker.
2011 NFL Draft: Buffalo Bills Could Go Anywhere
We’re not sure where they’ll go but SB Nation’s Buffalo Rumblings has laid out what Buffalo needs to address.
The Buffalo Bills have a long list of needs. They could use a franchise quarterback, even with Ryan Fitzpatrick playing respectably in 2010. They could stand to get a bit more physical along the offensive line, as they struggled to run the ball this season. Obviously, the defense is a major issue, and they need upgrades rushing the passer and, perhaps much more urgently, stopping the run. Depth in their defensive backfield is certain to be depleted, as well. It will be hard for the Bills to go wrong simply taking the best player available with their third overall pick; this talent-starved team needs as much talent as they can get, regardless of position.
Buffalo has to go best player available. If that’s not a quarterback, it wouldn’t be a terrible move to go back to QB Ryan Fitzpatrick again.
So which players will they be looking at?
With the third pick, Cam Newton, A.J. Green, Da’Quan Bowers, Marcell Dareus, Von Miller and Patrick Peterson would all be strong options for the club. All are immensely talented, and all would fill needs - positional or in general - for this 4-12 team.
