List Of Baseball’s Best-Selling Jerseys Suggests That Fans Are Not Completely Objective
It was previously believed that the baseball fan demographic purchased jerseys only after considering statistical values. For example, Albert Pujols' jersey was presumably popular because statistically, he is the greatest hitter of his generation.

It’s puzzling. It’s unclear why anyone would buy a jersey with anyone’s name other than Pujols’ (because he is the best baseball player), and yet his jersey stands only at No. 6.
Most troubling, of course, is the No. 1 slot. Who is this player? Why is his jersey the most popular? He certainly isn’t terribly good at baseball!
