DeAngelo Casto Suspension Lifted By Washington State AD Bill Moos, According To Report

Although the details remain blurry, Washington State has lifted DeAngelo Casto’s suspension according to The Spokesman-Review’s Vince Grippi, and he will be available to play in Wednesday night’s NIT game against Northwestern. Casto had been suspended since Monday after marijuana turned up at his residence following an investigation. Casto was cited for marijuana possession on Tuesday after he and his attorney met with Pullman police.

An interesting part of the story is that it was WSU athletic director Bill Moos who lifted the suspension, and not head coach Ken Bone. Castro and his attorney are contesting the citation and had also appealed his suspension.

Moos commented that he lifted the suspension because he felt that it was best to led the legal system run its course due to "unique circumstances" Although he did not elaborate as to what those circumstances might be.
