Mexico square off against Venezuela in an international friendly today at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium, but despite the relative unimportance of the match Mexico coach José Manuel de la Torre has picked a relatively strong lineup. He has, however, granted a starts to youngster Giovanni Dos Santos (Tottenham Hotspur), using the friendly to introduce some youth to the first team rather than going with an all-veteran lineup. Dos Santos does have top-level experience, however, so it's not as though playing him translates to a major hit in quality.
Mexico Vs. Venezuela: Lineups
Venezuela's César Farías must do without the calibre of players available to his Mexican counterpart, but although his side are the underdogs they're more than capable of giving Mexico a scare. The man to watch is Thomas Rincon in the middle - if the playmaker has a good match Venezuela may have a chance of taking something today, but that's only if Mexico don't show the sort of class they did in their 3-1 victory against Paraguay over the weekend.
