Our annual 2011 NFL Mock Draft, with picks made by each of SB Nation’s NFL team bloggers, is in full swing. The latest pick in to the podium: the Tennessee Titans, at No. 8 overall.

With the eighth overall pick in the 2011 SB Nation NFL Writers Mock Draft, the Tennessee Titans select Nick Fairley, defensive tackle, Auburn.

Jimmy Morris of MusicCityMiracles.com explains the choice, and our own Dan Kadar reacts to it, after the jump. Make sure you’re grading this pick for the Titans, and checking out Music City Miracles for all of your Titans needs.

Jimmy Morris explains: The Titans’ defense was really bad in 2010, and part of the reason for that was because their undersized defensive tackles were banged up for most of the season. Nick Fairley, at 6-foot-3 and 291 pounds, will help take care of that problem. He is also a guy that could step in and help the 2011 Titans from day one, and that is something that this defense will desperately need. Fairley, at one point, was considered to be the best player in this draft. He has started to drop a little over the past few weeks, but the Titans would be thrilled to get him with the eighth pick.

Dan Kadar reacts: For the last several weeks, this pick has really become commonplace. This is Tennessee’s top need after quarterback, and Fairley is a big-time talent. What Tennessee will have to figure out before making the pick is whether or not Fairley has the work ethic to be great. The trouble is, he may not. [Nick Fairley Scouting Report]

With that, the Dallas Cowboys - and our friends at Blogging the Boys - are now on the clock.
