The Orlando Magic, who have recovered from mid-season woes to re-establish themselves as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, placed an exclamation mark on their resurgence Thursday night with a road win over the mighty Miami Heat. On Saturday night, they return home to the Amway Center, where they'll host their neighbor in the East standings, the Chicago Bulls.
Magic Vs. Bulls: Dwight Howard, Orlando Looking For Fifth Straight Win
The Bulls, who sit 2.5 games ahead of the Magic, are on pace to finish with their best record since the Michael Jordan era. Our Bulls blog, Blog a Bull, has previewed Friday night’s game. Among other things, they take a look at the match-up between MVP candidate Derrick Rose and the Magic’s Jameer Nelson:
Supposedly, Jameer Nelson has a history of doing real well against Derrick Rose. Last game, he didn't do so well. Jameer also got 23 points in a half of basketball against the Knicks. Yet... I don't think this matchup scares anyone: we've discussed at length how we got beaten by the inside-out 3 point shooting Magic - and not because of Jameer Nelson's drive-kick game. Derrick Rose owns Jameer Nelson as a player, human being, and skittle eater.
Well, then! The third- and fourth- place teams in the Eastern Conference tip off at 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. Stay tuned to this StoryStream for updates. And for more, be sure to check out Blog a Bull as well as our Magic blog, Orlando Pinstriped Post.
