On Saturday, the NBA made it official: Magic center Dwight Howard will receive a one-game suspension for committing his technical 16th foul of the 2010-11 season. The foul occurred during Friday night's game against the Bulls.

During a fight for the ball under the rim, the Bulls' Kyle Korver put his hand on Howard's arm. Howard then pivoted to throw his elbows. He didn't make contact with anyone, but the officials viewed the act as deliberate and whistled him for a foul. Howard finished the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds as his Magic fell to the Bulls, 89-81.

Howard will be suspended without pay for Orlando's game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night. The suspension might hurt him in more ways than one, as our Magic blog, Orlando Pinstriped Post, believes that a suspension for technical fouls could cost him votes in the MVP race.
