Kyrie Irving Likely To Declare For 2011 NBA Draft, According To Report

Duke point guard Kyrie Irving played in just 11 games this season, and it's looking like that will be it for his college career. The freshman point guard will likely announce that he is declaring for the 2011 NBA Draft shortly, according to a report by ESPN's Chad Ford.

We should be getting updates soon from a number of the top underclassmen. Sources say Kyrie Irving is leaning strongly toward declaring for the NBA Draft and should be making an announcement soon.

Irving is currently projected to be the No. 1 pick in Draft Express’ latest NBA Mock Draft, so it only makes sense for him to put his name in. Irving averaged 17.5 points and 4.3 assists per game in just 11 games after suffering a toe injury in December. He returned in time for the NCAA Tournament, likely closing his college career with a 28-point performance in Duke’s Sweet 16 loss to Arizona.
