This bit by Scott Wolf in the Long Beach Press-Telegram, published in late March, was the last thing we read about Markeith Ambles, the on-again, off-again, on-again USC wide receiver, and it seemed to bode well for one of college football’s most notorious spellers:

But if not for a second chance, Ambles wouldn’t even be at USC today. He quit the team last fall and spoke to Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and North Carolina about transferring. Then Ambles underwent a change of heart.

"I was going to transfer. I didn’t want to be here," Ambles said. "But then I just knew this was the place where I wanted to be and change myself."
