2011 NFL Draft: Schedule For NFLPA Rookie Debut

The NFLPA is no longer asking incoming rookies to skip the 2011 NFL draft because of the labor issue. That news came out several weeks ago and the NFLPA apparently changed plans amid fan backlash and now they’re hosting a series of events on the weekend of the 2011 NFL draft instead.

On Thursday, there will be a welcome dinner along with the families players from 4-6:00 p.m.. The NFL draft is that evening and starts shortly after that. On Friday, there will be player interviews and then a lunch and a dinner later that day. On Saturday, there will bea “Let Us Play” fitness and skills clinic s well as a “One Team Celebration Party” that evening.

The events will take place less than a mile from Radio City Music Hall, and the times don’t conflict with the actual draft so the players can do both.

Among the that have confirmed to attend the NFLPA draft events: Prince Amukamara, Marvin Austin, Adrian Clayborn, Marcell Dareus, Nick Fairley, Blaine Gabbert, A.J. Green, Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, Cameron Jordan, Ryan Kerrigan, Corey Liuget, Von Miller, Rahim Moore, Cam Newton, Patrick Peterson, Robert Quinn, Aldon Smith, Daniel Thomas and J.J. Watt.

There are also current players that will be involved in the NFLPA Rookie Debut including Sam Bradford, Mike Vrabel and Maurice Jones-Drew among dozens of others.
