Borussia Dortmund’s star midfielder Nuri Şahin could be on his way to Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in the summer. A report out of Germany states that the Turkish international has already received an offer from the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid After Borussia Dortmund Star Nuri Şahin?
A logical bid from Real Madrid for a player of Şahin's caliber would be somewhere north of €17million. However, all year long reports have been coming out that he had a release clause in his contract of ONLY €6m! If the minor release clause is true, then Şahin would be a bargain for any "big club" across the continent.
There is the possibility that this could be a negotiating ploy by Şahin’s agent in an attempt to get a increase in pay for his client. At this time, he makes around €2m a season. It is worth noting that Nuri Şahin already shares an agent with a member of Los Blancos. He and Mesut Özil share agent Reza Fazeli.
Dortmund aren’t sitting around and waiting to lose Şahin before looking for his replacement. It is believed that they will be making a move for Nürnberg midfielder İlkay Gündoğan.
