The NCAA has come down hard on a university found to have allocated close to $50,000 in ostensibly merit-based financial aid dollars to promising athletes. That school, you may be surprised to learn, is not in the SEC: St. Louis’ Fontbonne University, home of the D-III Griffins, will be hit with two years’ probation, as well as “public reprimand and censure.” Allow us to kick that off: Bad Fontbonne! Bad! (This is how this works, right? Seems effective! "Hey, talented high-schoolers, don't enroll here! They might give you money you do not deserve." Quel horreur, right?)
