Spurs’ Manu Ginobili Leaves Wednesday’s Game With Elbow Injury

San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili left the game with a right elbow injury in the first quarter of Wednesday night's game against the Phoenix Suns. Ginobili clutched his arm and was quickly escorted to the locker room.

According to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, "Manu Ginobili has a hyperextended right elbow. X-rays are negative. He will be re-examined Thursday in San Antonio." McDonald also said Ginobli "appeared to get his elbow bent backwards on collision with Duncan/Grant Hill ... Whatever happened, he's in some serious pain."

The Spurs have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference but Ginobili is critical to their playoff success. He is averaging 17.6 points, 5.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals on the year.

The Spurs will begin post-season play this weekend against either the Grizzlies or the Hornets.
