Cam Newton’s Heisman Statue Is A Thing That Will Happen

We’re going to tread very carefully here for a minute, because we do not enjoy thinly-veiled threats via email as much as we used to before this past college football season, but here we go trying to please both constituencies who sent us this news: Auburn is doing the Florida thing, erecting statues of past Heisman winners at its storied football stadium. Pat Sullivan and Bo Jackson will of course be among those cast in some sort of rock or metal, along with Cam Newton, who has a Heisman Trophy. We have no reason at this time to think that is going to change, and would never be so uncouth as to suggest this particular statue be easily movable. Not right now.
