Auburn Football Adds Tiger Prowl To NCAA Investigation Collection

Auburn Tigers football program, what are you doing today? Oh, just getting investigated for something new. Add Tiger Prowl, the program's short-lived annual recruiting spectacular, to the list of things the NCAA is looking into, reports The Birmingham News' Jon Solomon.

Tiger Prowl, for the out-of-towners, began in 2009, when coaches rode Auburn-branded stretch Hummers to visit recruits. This soon morphed into an entire Auburn bus, with the whole thing ultimately ending due to a new NCAA rule against programs sending herds of coaches to a school during evaluation periods.

This is distinct from Big Cat Weekend, a pep rally that involved recruits being introduced by name while assistant head coach Trooper Taylor led the Toomer’s Corner crowd in cheers. The NCAA disapproved of this as well.

Just so we’re clear, here’s the current list of ongoing investigations or cases involving Auburn football in addition to Tiger Prowl: the pay-for-play scandal spurred by HBO Real Sports, the matter of Cam Newton’s recruitment, the recruitment of Greg Robinson and Trovon Reed, and a four-player house robbery.
