While the Tennessee Titans transition from former head coach Jeff Fisher to new coach Mike Munchak, general manager Mike Reinfeldt will remain with the team for several more years to rebuild the team into a contender. According to a report from the Tennessean, Reinfeldt has signed a multi-year contract with the Titans to remain with the team through 2014.
GM Mike Reinfeldt Agrees To Tennessee Titans Contract Extension, According To Report
Entering his fifth year as the team's general manager, Reinfeldt's original contract would have finished at the end of the season. His team will pick eighth overall in the NFL Draft, and the Titans could go in any number of directions with the pick. In SB Nation's latest 2011 NFL mock draft, the Titans select Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley, not having found a suitable replacement for Albert Haynesworth yet. But with Vince Young's future uncertain and Kerry Collins an aging veteran hitting free agency, a quarterback is possible there.
With a contract extension in hand, Reinfeldt appears to have the final say in personnel decisions for the upcoming draft.
