Aaron Gray landed awkwardly on his right ankle late in the fourth quarter of the New Orleans Hornets' series opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. He remained on the floor for a moment as his teammates left the bench to gather around him in the paint before being helped to his feet and assisted into the team's locker room.

After the game, Chris Paul told ABC's broadcast team that Gray had been the player of the game. Paul's got a point, if he's not allowed to pick himself, of course. Gray and Jarrett Jack both played very good games -- the center contributed 12 points and held Andrew Bynum to 13, with New Orleans posting a +25 scoring margin when Gray was on the floor.
New Orleans will need to hope Gray can return quickly, with game two in Los Angeles set for Wednesday, April 20.
