Giants’ Brandon Belt Sent To Triple-A

Rookie first baseman Brandon Belt was sent to AAA Fresno by the Giants today, making room for right fielder Cody Ross, who was activated from the disabled list. From Mychael Urban:

Brandon Belt just told me he is being sent down.Belt was a surprise addition to the Giants’ Opening Day lineup after a spot on the roster opened up when Ross strained his calf. The Giants were hoping that Belt’s performance in the Cactus League would translate into April success, making for a tough decision when Ross came back.
