NFL Draft 2011: News And Rumors Before Round One Kicks Off

The 2011 NFL draft is less than two weeks away. The first round will be held on Thursday, April 28 in primetime as will the second and third round on Friday, April 29. That next Saturday, April 30, the fourth through seventh rounds will be conducted ending the draft.

Leading up to to next Thursday there will be a boatload of draft rumors. That’s usually what we see in the week or so before the NFL draft as some important information is leaked and some teams intentionally leak misinformation to help their cause. For example, a team could leak out negative information on a particular player in the hopes that others pass on him and he drops to that team. Or, teams could leak out information indicating they really like one player and possibly get another team to beat and reach on that player.

By this point, teams have done their evaluations and a lot of what you hear by now is misinformation being spread. The draft is a strategic game and NFL teams are paranoid about their true draft plans getting out.
