Between overs 11-20 Sri Lankan threatened to accelerate, hitting 51 through the partnership of Dilshan and Sangakkara with Sreesanth (brought back for the final) proving particularly expensive.

The introduction of Harbajhan proved pivotal though as he dismissed Dilshan for when the opener looked well set, and with Yuvraj now into the attack Sri Lanka have been checked slightly and are 105-2 off 25 overs.
Whilst boundaries have been difficult to come by, Sri Lanka have rotated the strike well and new batsman Jayawardena has looked in form early on. The Sri Lankan’s will be hopeful of pushing a score of 250+, whilst India will hope for some quick wickets to put the pressure on the middle order.
With both Sangakkara and Jayawardena well set, a big innings from at least one of them could swing the advantage Sri Lanka’s way. At the moment though, it is India who will be the happier team – but only just.
