On Tuesday, Marlins outfielder Logan Morrison had to be pulled from a game with a strained muscle in the arch of his left foot. Initial reports were positive, but Morrison was wearing a protective boot after the game and sat out on Wednesday. He was then sent for an MRI, and while the Marlins have yet to make a statement, it would appear that Morrison is bound for the disabled list. From the Miami Herald:
Logan Morrison Likely DL-Bound With Foot Injury
Looks like Logan Morrison -- the Marlins’ top hitter so far -- is headed to the disabled list. Just spotted him outside the clubhouse wearing a fresh, white hard cast on his left leg.
A reporter asked Morrison how long he thought he’d be out of action, and Morrison responded “about two weeks.” Sounds right.
Through 15 games, Morrison owns a 1.061 OPS, by far the best among the team's starters. He's slugged half of the Marlins' eight home runs, and he's going to leave a void while he heals up. With luck, guys like Hanley Ramirez and Mike Stanton will step up in his absence.
