Amare Stoudemire’s Injury May Keep Him Out Of Game 4 Of Knicks-Celtics Series

On Friday night, the New York Knicks' Amare Stoudemire returned to action after being sidelined with a back injury. However, he was largely a non-factor against the Celtics in Game 3 of their playoff series, and on Saturday, Stoudemire isn't sure whether he'll play in Game 4. Howard Beck of the New York Times tweets:

Amare very noncommittal about playing in Game 4, worried about risking further injury to his back. Says it feels worse today than yesterday.

Beck also quotes Stoudemire as saying that he played at about 50 percent on Friday. At one point in the game, Stoudemire removed a therapeutic belt he was wearing that was meant to stabilize his back.

It's possible that the Knicks would be better served without an injured Amare Stoudemire on the floor, but the question may be moot. The Celtics lead the series three games to none, and no NBA team has ever rallied from a 0-3 deficit to win a seven-game playoff series.
