Georgetown’s Hollis Thompson Declares For NBA Draft

Georgetown forward Hollis Thompson has declared for the NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent to protect his NCAA eligibility.

The school confirmed the sophomore's decision Friday.

Thompson started 22 of 32 games for the Hoyas this past season, averaging 8.6 points and 4.4 rebounds. He appeared in all 34 games as a freshman.

Georgetown fans over at Casual Hoya think Thompson is being fairly savvy in declaring but leaving the door open to return:

His decision to put his name in the NBA Draft pool is a smart one, as it will allow him to workout with some of the other players who have declared and get feedback from scouts and GMs on his long-term NBA prospects. I would be surprised if Thompson remained in the Draft but this certainly indicates that should Hollis have the season we expect him to as a junior that it could be his last year on the Hilltop.
