There has been speculation over the last two days that the Denver Broncos are strongly considering Texas A&M pass rusher Von Miller with the second overall pick.
Von Miller, Andy Dalton gaining NFL Draft momentum
It was noted by ESPN analyst Adam Schefter on Mike & Mike in the Morning today, and in an NFL Network report Monday evening. The Broncos have been linked to Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus the past few weeks.
Should Denver take Miller, the Bills will likely take Dareus or LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson. If the Broncos stick with Dareus as many expect, the Bills are expected to go with Miller.
The infatuation with TCU quarterback Andy Dalton has reached new highs of late. According to Pro Football Talk, members of the Tennessee Titans offensive staff want the team to draft him while the defensive staff wants Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley.
That may also mean the Titans would take Dalton over Blaine Gabbert, a player who many consider more highly regarded. Peter King of Sports Illustrated posed the notion that Dalton should be the Titans pick earlier this week.
It should be noted that Tennessee’s defensive line coach is Tracy Rocker. Last season, he held the same position at Auburn and knows Fairley probably better than anyone.
Of course, Fairley would have to be there at eight. There is some speculation that he may be a target of the Cleveland Browns with the sixth pick should Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green, Peterson and North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn be gone.
