The hot button topic surrounding the 2011 NFL Draft is the amount of quarterbacks who are expected to be picked early.
Poll: Which of these teams won’t draft a quarterback early?
If we classify "early" as top 50 picks, seven quarterbacks are likely to be picked. That would be Auburn's Cam Newton, Missouri's Blaine Gabbert, Florida State's Christian Ponder, Arkansas' Ryan Mallett, TCU's Andy Dalton, Nevada's Colin Kaepernick, Washington's Jake Locker.
However, there is arguably nine teams that could take quarterbacks in the top 50 picks. That would be the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks.
You’ll notice that Buffalo is missing. I think they’re going to stick with Ryan Fitzpatrick.
So there is arguably seven quarterbacks for nine teams. Two teams are going to be left hoping to sign a free agent (at some point). Who do you think won’t be taking a quarterback early in the 2011 NFL Draft?
