TicketCity Bowl Future Very Much In Doubt! Zut Alors!

Look, it’s April, and spring football is winding down, and fall camp is months off. There’s not a rational reason for a story of this import not to receive national attention:

The NCAA has delayed the license renewal for the Dallas-based Ticket City Bowl, which held its first game Jan. 1. In a news release Thursday, the NCAA’s Postseason Bowl Licensing Subcommittee said it made the decision “pending further information and discussion of its business plan.â€

The NCAA is citing poor attendance as a factor in the decision, skirting the conventional wisdom that throwing a New Year’s Day bowl game between the sixth-place Big Ten team and the eighth-place Big 12 team is a stupid, stupid idea, even if it is in the Cotton Bowl.
