Vincent Lecavalier Has No Structural Damage After Eye Injury, Could Play Tuesday

If the Tampa Bay Lightning are going to overtake the Pittsburgh Penguins for home-ice advantage in the Eastern playoffs, they're probably going to need their captain in the lineup. That's why it's good news, of course, that Vincent Lecavalier doesn't have any structural damage to his left eye after taking a high stick on Sunday in Chicago.

Lecavalier updated us all via Twitter.

Good news, no structural damage. I am very lucky, could of been alot worse. Feels a bit better today. Day to day.

Lecavalier suffered the injury in the second period of his team's game against the Blackhawks when the errant stick of Michael Frolik came and popped him in the eye. He left the game and needed a few stitches to close the gash above the eye. After some initial sight problems, he's back in good shape now and could be back in the lineup on Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres. He'll be a game-time decision.

The injury scared Lecavalier to the point where he’ll attempt to adjust to wearing a visor full-time.
