2011 WNBA Mock Draft: Maya Moore Expected To Be No. 1 Pick

The 2011 WNBA Draft will take place on April 11, and will feature many of the top women’s college basketball stars. Maya Moore, the spectacular forward for the UConn Huskies, leads the list of the 2011 WNBA Draft prospects, and is pretty much a shoe-in to be the No. 1 pick.

The Minnesota Lynx will have the No. 1 overall pick after a 13-21 season in 2010. The Lynx leapfrogged the Tulsa Shock to win the No. 1 overall pick and the right to select Moore. Tulsa, which finished 6-28 last season, will instead pick in the No. 2 slot. The Chicago Sky will pick third, while the Lynx will pick fourth after a 2010 trade with the Connecticut Sun.

Besides Moore, the other top prospect in the draft is Liz Cambage, a 6’8” 19-year old center that could take the league by storm. Cambage impressed at the 2010 World Championships, and the Shock will certainly see her as a nice consolation prize to losing the Moore lottery.
