It’s a day of Kentucky Derby tuneups as the Wood Memorial gets the East Coast horses ready while the Santa Anita Derby gets West Coast horses ready. On Saturday evening, the $1 million Santa Anita Derby gets underway, but the early favorite won’t be joining the field -- Premier Pegasus was a scratch on Friday, giving the race a more wide-open feel. With 10 horses set to hit the track on Saturday, there’s plenty to keep track of for fans of horse racing and the Santa Anita Derby.

Here’s a look at the basic information for Saturday’s race.
Location: Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California hosts the derby bearing the track’s name. The race is 1-1/8 miles on the synthetic dirt track.
Start time: Post time is 7:37 p.m. EDT, or 4:37 p.m. local time at the track.
Broadcast information: To find the Santa Anita Derby, you’re going to have to get a bit creative. There doesn’t appear to be any free, legal online streams and mainstream broadcasts are out of the question. Instead, like the Wood Memorial, the Santa Anita Derby will be broadcast on HRTV.
