The Oklahoma City Thunder regained the upper hand in their 2011 NBA Playoffs second-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies with a thrilling triple-overtime win in Memphis in Game 4 on Monday night. Now, they'll look to take advantage of that win and take a 3-2 series lead on Memphis in Game 5 in Oklahoma City at 9:30 p.m. on TNT.
Grizzlies Vs. Thunder, Game 5: Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant Look For Series Advantage At Home
The Thunder looked to be in big trouble on Monday when they faced an 18-point second-quarter deficit, but they worked their way back into the lead at the end of regulation. Then, Mike Conley hit a game-tying three-pointer, and the festivities begun. The Thunder took a six-point lead in the first overtime, but Memphis rallied again to tie the score and send it into double overtime on a Greivis Vasquez three. The two teams played to a draw in the second OT before the Thunder finally closed it out late in the game.
This all happened despite Russell Westbrook taking 13 more shots than Kevin Durant. In fact, Durant went nine and a half minutes between field goal attempts at the end of regulation and into overtime. Problem or not, it's become a discussion point yet again that must be solved.
Memphis, meanwhile, needs to get more from Conley, who struggled in Game 4 before fouling out. They also need to get a little more from Zach Randolph, as they usually do. If so, then they can steal home-court advantage right back.
