With the struggling Jerry Blevins getting sent down to AAA Sacramento, the A's on Wednesday promoted a 6'7 righty reliever with 19 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. The 56th overall pick in the 2007 draft, he's only gotten better as he's climbed the ladder, and though he'll just occupy a middle relief role for the time being, this could be the start of a long, lucrative career for the Louisville alum.
