The 2011 All-NBA teams have been announced, and in a mild surprise, LeBron James of the Miami Heat was the only unanimous first team selection. After 11 writers left James off their Most Valuable Player ballot, one might have thought he would have similarly been snubbed for the all-NBA first team, but that was not the case.
2011 All-NBA Teams Announced, LeBron James Only Unanimous First-Team Selection
James joins MVP Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, Orlando's Dwight Howard, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and the Lakers' Kobe Bryant on the first team. Bryant's status is also a bit of a surprise because it bumped Dwyane Wade down to the second team.
Wade heads the all-NBA second team and is joined by Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook, the Lakers' Pau Gasol, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki and New York's Amar'e Stoudemire. New Orleans' Chris Paul, San Antonio's Manu Ginobili, Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge, Memphis' Zach Randolph and Atlanta's Al Horford make up the third team.
Here are the teams and the point totals. Players received five points for a first-team vote, three for a second-team vote and one for a third-team vote:
