In discussing the Chicago Bulls’ next task after overcoming the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, Carlos Boozer made a striking comment about the Miami Heat. Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel picked up on it.
Carlos Boozer Subtly Digs At Chris Bosh After Bulls Win
As the great Gus Johnson would say: Cold-blooded.
That Chris Bosh is the subject of criticism, subtle or otherwise, is no surprise and not rare. That Chris Bosh is the subject of criticism from an opposing power forward is also no surprise and, unfortunately, not rare. But from this particular opponent, one who has so struggled over the past month or more?
Again, it’s subtle. But players go out of the way to avoid bulletin board material, especially before a series cranks up. Boozer’s smart. He knows what people say about Bosh, and about the Heat. He knows what he is doing.
He’s also smart enough to know that, despite a great Game 6 against the Hawks, he’s in the same boat as Bosh, and that matchup will draw a lot of eyes. The loser will be ridiculed all summer. Boozer needs to beat down Bosh, not just for Chicago’s title hopes to survive, but for his own reputation to stay above ground.
