DaMarcus Beasley Supposedly Considering Move To MLS

United States national team player DaMarcus Beasley is considering a move back to North America, as both MLS and two Mexican Primera teams are seeking his services, agent Lyle Yorks told MLSsoccer.com. Beasley's agent said his client is also considering offers to stay in Europe, where he is currently approaching the end of his contract with Bundesliga team Hannover 96.

Beasley, who was once one of the top up-and-coming American players, has been unable to find regular playing time with Hannover as he has battled injuries. He has played in just four matches since coming over on a free transfer from Rangers. The lack of regular playing time has been a constant in Beasley’s recent past as he has failed to make 20 appearances in any year since 2005-06 despite being a regular on the USMNT.

The speedy winger has never quite reached the potential that many saw in him when he left MLS for the Dutch Eredivisie in 2004-05. His best season in Europe was that year when he scored 10 goals in 22 matches with PSV Eindhoven.

If Beasley were to sign with MLS, he would be put through allocation, similar to Benny Feilhaber. Chivas USA, who skipped on the opportunity to select Feilhaber, still sit atop in the Allocation Order. They are followed by the Philadelphia Union, the Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC and the Chicago Fire, with whom he played during his previous MLS stint.
