Bobby Bo and Historical Revisionism

Yes, it’s weird that the Mets still owe Bobby Bonilla $30 million. And it’s weird that the Players Association is paying him $200,000 a year for (supposedly) nothing.

↵But to suggest that he “bombed … on the field” for the Mets in the 1990s? Leaving aside his short (and awful) stint in ’99, Bonilla batted .278/.362/.508 as a Met. Yeah, he was a pain in the ass. But the man could hit, and did.
