MLB TV Schedule, Tuesday 5/17: Phillies/Cardinals, Yankees/Rays

This is a week of abbreviated two-game series for every team in the major leagues, in advance of the first interleague play this weekend. So watch these matchups carefully this afternoon and tonight -- don’t blink, or you might miss something; these are the top matchups for Tuesday. All times Eastern.

3 p.m., CSN Bay Area, ROOT Sports (Denver): Giants at Rockies. The winner of this game takes first place in the NL West; will Ubaldo Jimenez finally return to last year's form?

6:30 p.m., WWOR, Sun Sports: Yankees at Rays. The Yankees are the not-so-proud owners of a six-game losing streak; the Rays have yet to reach the .500 mark in home games (currently 11-12). New York sends Ivan Nova to the mound to face James Shields.

↵↵

8 p.m., MLB Network: Phillies at Cardinals. Tonight's national telecast features the team with the best record in the NL (even riding a three-game losing streak) against the current runner-up in the NL Central. Roy Oswalt returns from the DL tonight for the Phillies.
