But you know, they do have Baseball’s best run differential.
By a Lot.
The Indians have outscored their (usually) unworthy opponents by 62 runs.
Do you think the American League is still the superior league? I'm asking because the next-best run differential in the American League -- the Big Boy League, if you will -- is the Yankees' +30.
If you don't think the American League is still the Big Boy League, then comparisons to the National League might seem valid. The best run differential in the National League is the Cardinals +47, but the Cardinals are in the process of placing their entire roster on the Disabled List and holding open tryouts for 25 new guys. The Braves are +43. The Phillies and the Reds are both +35, and totally cool with it.
So the Indians can’t just toss their gloves on the field and assume they’ll win the World Series.
But you know, they just might win the World Series. We’re more than a fourth of the way into the season, and run differentials rarely lie.
