↵↵For the rest of the baseball world, there are intercity rivalry matchups and a nationally televised date at Fenway Park. All times Eastern.

7 p.m., WGN, NESN, MLB Network: Cubs at Red Sox. If you're a serious baseball fan, you certainly have one or more of these channels on your cable or satellite system. It's the first visit of the Cubs to Fenway since the 1918 World Series. Doug Davis and Jon Lester get the honors to kick off this series.

7 p.m., WWOR, SNY: Mets at Yankees. This Yankee Stadium matchup has pitchers who aren't going to go down in their teams' annals as greats: R.A. Dickey vs. Freddy Garcia. The Yankees are trying to stay with the Rays and Red Sox in the AL East. The Mets are trying to pretend they still matter in the NL East.

10 p.m., KNTV, CSN Bay Area: Athletics at Giants. For the first time in nearly a decade, both teams have a decent shot at the postseason; Trevor Cahill faces Ryan Vogelsong tonight.
