If you’re looking for a sporting activity to follow this weekend, I humbly suggest the interleague series between the Astros and Blue Jays. No, these teams have probably never been uttered in the same sentence before. Both have played in domed stadiums, both acquired Roger Clemens at one point... and that’s about it.
Astros-Blue Jays: The Greatest Rivalry In All Of Sports
↵And that is just the point. These teams are completely unfamiliar with one another and have spent 30-plus years playing baseball at completely opposite ends of Major League Baseball.
↵Just as Texans and Canadians speak the same language but in different accents, I suspect these teams play the same baseball with very slight variations. Like, one team will assume a force-out at first base, but the other will orchestrate a pickle between home and first and demand to be tagged out before leaving the diamond.
