Crowne Plaza Invitational Leaderboard: David Toms Aims To Continue Dominating Performance

Through the first two rounds, David Toms has absolutely destroyed the Crowne Plaza Invitational. Toms matched his first-round 62 with another 62 in the second round, and entering Saturday’s play, he sits on top of the leaderboard with a commanding seven-stroke lead.

Toms’ play has been remarkably consistent. In each of his two rounds, he scored eight birdies without committing a single bogey. Toms is a week removed from his Players Championship run that ultimately ended in a playoff loss to K.J. Choi; the 44-year-old won his last PGA Tour event in 2006.

With David Toms minutes away from hitting the course in Round 3, here’s how the top of the leaderboard looks. All players listed have yet to begin their third rounds, unless otherwise noted.

1. David Toms (-16)
T2. Charlie Wi (-9)
T2. Steven Bowditch
T2. Mark Wilson
T2. John Senden
T6. William McGirt (-8, through 10 holes in Round 3)
T6. Rickie Fowler (through two holes in Round 3)
T6. Chez Reavie (through one hole in Round 3)
T6. Rory Sabbatini
