Jorge De La Rosa Pulled With Elbow Soreness

Tuesday afternoon, Rockies starter Jorge de la Rosa was pulled from a game in the third inning with a mysterious injury. The lefty has been dealing with blister problems this season, but the TV announcers speculated that something had gone wrong with his elbow. Now, a little while later, via Jim Armstrong, we learn that de la Rosa's elbow is indeed at the heart of the matter.

de la Rosa was pulled due to “left elbow soreness,” and will certainly be examined to determine the severity of the injury. It’s possible that he could have just a minor strain, but it’s also possible that this might be something far more sinister, and there’s no sense in guessing which it is based on the little information we have.

It’s worth noting that, back in 2007, de la Rosa missed more than a month of action due to an elbow strain, so there is some precedent for complications, here.
