2:20 p.m., WGN, ROOT Sports Pittsburgh: Pirates at Cubs. This game isn't all that important -- between teams tied for fourth in the NL Central -- but if you're looking for a Friday afternoon baseball fix, this one's your only choice today. Doug Davis vs. Kevin Correia is the pitching matchup.

7 p.m., NESN, FSN Detroit: Red Sox at Tigers. Tim Wakefield, who had a successful start against the Cubs last Sunday, faces Detroit's Rick Porcello.

7:30 p.m., MLB Network, FSN Ohio, SportSouth: Reds at Braves. Both of these teams, expected to contend for division titles, are in second place and scrambling to get back to the top. Mike Leake will start for Cincinnati, Tommy Hanson for Atlanta.

10 p.m., YES Network, ROOT Sports Seattle: Yankees at Mariners. The surprising Mariners (well, as surprising as you get for a team a game under .500) are only 1.5 games out of first place in the tight AL West. The Yankees start the night tied with the Red Sox for first place in the AL East. A.J. Burnett faces Michael Pineda.
