Maryland’s run in the 2011 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament just got a little longer: the Terrapins will play for a national championship after dispatching Duke, 9-4, in Saturday’s national semifinal.

Maryland held the Blue Devils to their second-lowest scoring output on the season, extending a stretch of defensive dominance that has seen the Terps allow just 15 goals in three games in this NCAA Tournament.
Grant Catalino led Maryland, playing in front of a supportive crowd in Baltimore, with three goals. Duke, the defending national champion, failed to score more than one goal in any quarter.
The Terrapins will meet Virginia, which beat Denver in the first national semifinal, in an all-ACC NCAA Tournament final on Monday. Maryland won the two teams’ regular-season matchup, 12-7,
