Keegan Bradley Wins 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship

Keegan Bradley emerged with his first PGA Tour win when he defeated Ryan Palmer in a one-hole playoff at the 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship. At the 18th hole, Bradley gained an advantage when Palmer sent his second shot into the water, taking a one-stroke penalty and eventually making bogey. Bradley reached the green on three strokes to set up a two-foot par putt, which he made with ease.

Bradley shot 2-under (three birdies, one bogey) in the fourth round to finish at 3-under; Palmer started the day at in the lead at 5-under and made six bogeys and four birdies to reach 3-under, making his final birdie on the 18th to force the playoff.

Ryuji Imada had been in control for most of the day, but the final four holes of his round were filled with frustration. He made bogey on three of the four, including a missed three-foot putt on the par 3 17th hole. A final bogey on the 18th put him at 2-under for the tournament and out of the playoff.

Teenage amateur Jordan Speith, 1-under and in the top 10 through three rounds, fired a final round 77 and wound up tied for 32nd.
