It's not yet been officially confirmed, but it's starting to look a lot like the Houston Dynamo and recent international signing Sergio Koke have decided to part ways. Dynamo Theory, SB Nation's Houston Dynamo blog, reported on Wednesday about a cryptic message Koke had posted on his Facebook page that seemed to indicate he was leaving town at some point.
Sergio Koke, Houston Dynamo Reportedly Part Ways
Later in the day, Dynamo TV broadcaster Glenn Davis reported that he had confirmed Koke’s departure:
Dynamo confirm koke gone.....
Assuming this is all true, Koke's Dynamo career was a short one that had mixed results. He played in just seven games, starting two (which seems to be a likely cause of his displeasure). During that time, the Spaniard scored one goal. The goal was a memorable one, though, as it gave the Dynamo a late lead against the New York Red Bulls in a match that ultimately ended in a 1-1 tie.
The signing of Koke, who came to the Dynamo after a successful stint with Greece’s Aris, was greeted with a fair amount of fanfare. Although not quite a Designated Player, he was clearly a quality talent, who at 28 seemed to be a potential building block as the Dynamo prepare to open their new stadium next year.
