On the same exact day that Justin Verlander pitched a no-hitter and Yovani Gallardo almost did, Doug Fister gave up 14 hits in 5-2/3 innings, falling just one bingle short of the club record set by Greg Hibbard in this gem.
↵(In fairness to Fister, he gave up only five runs Saturday night; Hibbard gave up 10. So I wouldn’t worry too much about Hibbard’s 6.69 ERA with the M’s that season, his last as a professional baseball pitcher.)
