VfB Stuttgart forward Cacau, 30, had successful surgery on Monday to repair a groin injury that had been bothering him for some time. He will miss their final game of the season against Bayern München.
Cacau Injury: Forward Undergoes Successful Groin Surgery
Cacau has put off surgery for several weeks in order to help the Swabians in their battle against relegation. With this past weekend’s victory against Hannover 96, Stuttgart clinched their survival in the first division for next season. He will have the surgery now, and then return for pre-season training a little early in order to be fit for the beginning of next season. Stuttgart will be looking for a vast improvement from their current campaign, where they have been in the bottom third of the table nearly the entire season.
Cacau is currently tied for third in scoring on the team behind Martin Harnik and Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
