NCAA Baseball Super Regionals 2011, Texas Vs. Arizona State Final Score: Sun Devils Win Game 1

The Texas Longhorns are a team very much capable of winning two consecutive games at home, but if they're going to do that, their defense and hitting has to improve. Tonight, in Game 1 of their NCAA Baseball Tournament Super Regional against the Arizona State Sun Devils, star staring pitcher Taylor Jungmann gave his team enough to get a win, but his team let him down, and as a result, Arizona State has a 1-0 lead in the series after winning Game 1 by a score of 3-1.

Brady Rodgers put in a similarly great performance to Jungmann tonight, and relief pitcher Mitchell Lambson had a fantastic performance. The Texas lineup is solid top to bottom, but they failed to show it tonight, and they’ll have to step it up over the next two days.

Tomorrow’s starting pitching matchup is evenly matched, much like today’s, as Cole Green and Kramer Champlin are expected to face off in Austin.
