On Saturday, Yankees starter Bartolo Colon pulled his hamstring attempting to make a defensive play and had to come out of the game. He was sent for an MRI, but from the beginning, a trip to the disabled list looked likely:

The Yankees tried to stay optimistic after the game, but the likelihood is Colon is bound for the disabled list for an extended period of time, and they are going to have to dip into the minor leagues to find a new starting pitcher.

Noesi up for Sanit (elbow), MRI came back "good" on Colon, but DL still seems like a foregone conclusion
Mark Hale confirms that Colon has indeed been placed on the DL. So, to review:
-Bartolo Colon's MRI wasn't bad

-Hector Noesi may take Colon's place in the rotation, having been recalled to replace...
-Amaury Sanit, who has also been placed on the DL with elbow inflammation
-Chris Dickerson is up to take Colon's roster spot
At this point there’s no telling how long Colon will be out of action, but the fact that his injury isn’t severe is encouraging. Colon owns a 3.10 ERA over 78-1/3 innings, with 18 walks and 72 strikeouts.
